Dahlonega, GA

A few weeks ago, I flew back to GA to see my husband graduate from Airborne school at Ft. Benning. Of course I had to spend a few days in North Georgia and visit my friends, the college (North Georgia College & State University), and the beautiful Dahlonega square. Unless you are from Dahlonega, visited there, or are a history fanatic, you probably don’t know that this small town in the North Georgia mountains is where the first major gold rush in the United States occured. Today, Dahlonega is full of college students, great and neat shops, including some amazing antique stores, and awesome restaurants. If you are ever visiting N. Ga, make sure you swing by this cute little town and explore all it has to offer!

And here are a few photos from Fort Benning…

Deborah and Sean - The town shots look like a Hollywood set – what fun to actually live in a town that looks like it is having a holiday every day. Grandma’s favorites were the bike in front of the store window the basket AND the Fudge Factory. 🙂

Anita Dragoo - I find the photos of the signs a delight. They tell so much about our culture and lifestyles.
